Things you need to know about the Central Pacific

Manuel Antonio is one of the main destinations in Costa Rica, including one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world.

White sand beaches, rainforest, blue water, stunning wildlife, you will find everything in one national park. Manuel Antonio has fascinating settings and offers a variety of diverse activities for the nature lovers and the adventurer. Nearby stretches of beach include Espadilla Beach and Biezans Beach. The beach-lined rainforests are home to sloths, white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys and squirrel monkeys. Recently, reintroduced to the area, you will see red macaws spreading their wings in the skies over the area.

This small town in Quepos, at the foot of the hill, Manuel Antonio acts as the gateway to the national park. It is a small port city and recognized as one of the best places for big game sport fishing. The coast is home to many fish that are considered prime catches, including marlin, sailfish, snapper, marisma, wahoo, mahi mahi, yellowfin and bigeye tuna. Quepos is home to one of the newest marinas in the country: Marina Pez Vela, which in addition to fishing tournaments, offers an excellent variety of restaurants and shops to visit.

Northwest of the city, the mangrove estuary of Damas Island is home to exorbitant wildlife, including alligators, snakes, and iguanas. Excursions can be made to explore this unique natural habitat.

Pale-throated Sloth, Three-toed Sloth, Marino Ballena National Park, Costa Rica

Manuel Antonio and Quepos, both offer in the same way a highly developed tourist infrastructure. It is very easy to get around with the public bus or red taxis. There is only one main road that takes you to a traffic circle right in front of the national park, which is the only road that exists, so you cannot easily get lost.

There are many culinary options in the area. For breakfast, you may visit a local Café to enjoy the emblematic Costa Rican beberage. You may taste the delicious light salads and pita snacks for lunch, the best pies in the area, the view is simply breathtaking. For dinner, try the freshest seafood; if you want something special or you want to enjoy, try the area’s delicious cocktails.

Tip: In Manuel Antonio and Quepos, you will not find all-inclusive and big chain hotels. Most hotels include breakfast, while almost all excursions include lunch and dinner, try one of the many amazing restaurants in the area and meet the locals.
